IS A TRAVEL INSURANCE REQUIRED?

The travel insurance is not required but is highly recommended. In 2008, 10% of our students have used the travel insurance.

HOW DO I BUY AIRCRAFT INSURANCE?

You will buy aircraft insurance directly from AOPA Insurance Agency using your credit card.

If you don't have a credit card, we can contract the insurance for you by charging you an additional 35$ fee.

For C150/C152 pilots, the coverage costs 466$ per year or 233$ per 6 months.

For C172, the coverage costs 546$ per year or 273$ per 6 months.

When you buy the insurance before starting your time building, you will be obliged to pay for a 1 year coverage. When you have finished your hour building, you will cancel the policy and receive a refund for 6 months on your credit card within 15 days. The minimum of 6 months is a requirement.

HOW DO I PAY FOR THE TIME BUILDING?

You are asked to pay the full block time, administration fee and time building kit, cash before start of your flying.

If you are not comfortable with paying everything upfront, it is possible to split the payment in two payments of 50%, with the remaining 50% to be paid before halfway the block and adding a fee of 25$.

For pilots who are concerned about carrying large amounts of cash during their travel to the U.S., consider using your credit cards (Master Card, Visa, American Expresnds) or debit cards (Maestro, Cirrus, Visa Debit) to withdraw money at local banks.

It is possible to send funds to our U.S. bank account though we can not recommend it due to high fees and bad exchange rates. We will only consider amounts we actually received on our accounts and will deduct any fees charged by the bank and add a fee of 100$. If you go through this process, please ensure that funds are transfered in such fashion as to arrive before you arrival to our airport.

You will pay the instruction directly to your instructor.

Accommodation will be paid in full at check-in at the hotel.
